EnviroVentures Day Camps

EnviroVentures Camps at Piedmont Park provide a healthy and engaging activity schedule for children age 5-10.  We offer a camp program for both spring and summer school breaks. Camper’s ages 10-15 can spend their days in the park this summer participating in sports and learning about healthy living. Be aware that camps do fill quickly; to ensure your spot and to take advantage of our early registration discount we recommend that you don’t delay.

LEARN. PLAY. EXPLORE.
Piedmont Park Conservancy is excited to offer a summer full of EnviroVentures for your children! EnviroVentures Day Camps include a variety of programs and activities focusing on experiential learning through active and educational programs.

EnviroVentures Summer Camp is offered to rising kindergartners (kindergarten class of fall 2014) through rising fifth graders. Due to Georgia Department of Early Learning regulations we cannot accept any campers who will not be 5 years old before program start date.

Each EnviroVentures Summer Camp session features outdoor sports and recreation, organic gardening, exploration of the park’s wetlands and wildlife areas, Wheels Fridays, arts and crafts, park stewardship, special programs and much much more! ! During our EnviroVentures Summer Camp all campers participate in daily swimming at our Aquatics Center.

A limited number of scholarships are available.

Week 1: Exploring Ecology, June 2-6.
This week's theme is Exploring Ecology. Kick the summer off to a great start with outdoor exploration, science labs, daily swimming and arts and crafts.

Week 2: Seed, Sprout, Grow, June 9-13.
Learn about awesome green world of plants! We'll spend time in the education garden, and learn how to identify plants and understand the plant life cycle. On top of that we'll still be swimming every day and having tons of fun!

Week 3: Incredible Insects, June 16-20.
Explore the world of insects and other arthropods here in Piedmont Park. We'll track roly polys, learn about pollinators and search for evidence of bug activity out in the park.

Week 4: Water Week, June 23-27. 
This week we'll be making a splash! From the water cycle to aquatic life water is not only really important, it's also a lot of fun to play with.

Week 5: Habitat Hunt, July 7-11. 
The park is home to wildlife who live in the park's many habitats. From lake to wetland and meadow to forest we'll check out Piedmont Park's various habitats while having tons of fun in the park!

Week 6: Nature Detectives, July 14-18. 
Solve some of nature's mysteries with science. We'll use the scientific method to explain why things float, fly and change. We'll also be exploring the park and swimming every day!

Week 7: Active Adventures, July 21-25.
Get ready to Move! This week is a traditional camp sampler with fun crafts, songs and games. We'll be out in the park playing like crazy!

Week 8: Garden to Belly, July 28 - August 1.
Where does food come from and what does it do for our bodies? This garden and food centered week will involve some veggie tastings, some extra kids cooking and lots of garden adventures in addition to all of our usual camp fun.

Summer Camp: June 2 through August 1 (with a break for the week of July 4th).
Regular Rates: $239/week

Piedmont Park Camp Fit

For those who have aged out of the summer camp program, but are still interested in a Camp experience at Piedmont Park, check out our exciting program: Piedmont Park Camp Fit.

After another exciting and successful year of youth health and fitness, Camp Fit will be back again in 2014 for a full camp season, June 2 - August 1. Camper’s ages 10-15 can spend their days in the park this summer participating in sports and learning about healthy living. Each week is filled with 5 days of outdoor activity including swim, track, team sports, pilates yoga, calisthenics and nutritional education. This program has the same hours as EnviroVentures Summer Camp and shares the pickup and drop off making it a great option for camp families with older children.  A certified trainer with experience training youth will lead the program.

EnviroVentures Spring Break Camp

EnviroVentures Spring Break Camp is SOLD OUT.

Piedmont Park Conservancy is excited get another exciting season of Spring Break Camp underway! Campers will get a chance to jump into spring here at Piedmont Park. Our camp is filled with many opportunities for experiential learning through active and educational programs. From ecology to gardening and active adventures on the park grounds, each day of camp children will be immersed in a learning adventure. Spring Break Camp will be held April 7-11 and is open to children Kindergarten through 5th grade (ages 5 – 10 yrs).

Monday April 7 Seed, Sprout, Grow! Get your hands dirty and make friends with some worms. Learn all about plants from gardening activities to photosynthesis labs and games.  This week we’ll be doing some plantings that campers will tend all season long.

Tuesday April 8 Incredible Insects Have you ever wanted to know how a fly sees the world, or how to tell a weevil from a beetle? Spend a week getting to know these interesting invertebrates!

Wednesday April 9 Sports Sampler Experience a week of fun physical activity. Field day, swimming, volleyball, soccer and much more.

Thursday April 10 Water, Water Everywhere Explore the wonderful world of water! Water cycles, A wetland safari, water creatures and water labs will make this week a splash!

Friday April 11 Nature Detectives Who calls the forest home? Explore our urban forest and learn about the many habitats and residents that live here.
