EnviroVentures Camps at Piedmont Park provide a healthy and engaging activity schedule to elementary aged children.  We offer a camp program for both spring and summer school breaks. Be aware that camps do fill quickly; to ensure your spot and to take advantage of our early registration discount we recommend that you don’t delay. We do not take partial payment or deposits at this time.

Spring into Warm Weather Fun with EnviroVentures Spring Break Camp At Piedmont Park: April 2-6, 2012. Registration is open.

  Session Description
Monday Nature Detectives Who calls the park’s habitats home? Explore our urban forest and learn about the many habitats and wildlife that live here.

Tuesday Incredible Insects Have you ever wanted to know how a fly sees the world, or how to tell a weevil from a beetle? Today we’ll get to know these interesting invertebrates!

Wednesday Water Water Everywhere Explore the wonderful world of water! Water cycles, A wetland safari, water creatures and water labs will make this day a splash!

Thursday Seed, Sprout, Grow Learn about the life cycle of plants while planting a spring Garden in the Park. From veggies and fruits to herbs and ornamentals we’ll get down in the dirt for fun with organic gardening.

Friday Field Day Campers bring their wheels to ride in the park and participate in a fun end-of-the-week field day.

EnviroVentures Summer Camp

LEARN. PLAY. EXPLORE.
Piedmont Park Conservancy is excited to offer a summer full of EnviroVentures for your children! EnviroVentures Summer Camp includes a variety of programs and activities focusing on experiential learning through active and educational programs. Each session features daily swimming in our Aquatics Center, outdoor sports and recreation, organic gardening, exploration of the park’s wetlands and wildlife areas, Wheels Fridays, arts and crafts, park stewardship, special programs and much, much more!

EnviroVentures Summer Camp 2012 is offered to rising kindergarteners through rising sixth graders, May 29th through August 3rd (with a break for the week of July 4th).

Week Dates Session Theme Description
1 5/29-6/1 Exploring Ecology Explore the different relationships present in the natural world through games, labs and active play. From basic needs to food chains this week is a fun introduction to EnviroVentures Camp!

2 6/4-6/8 Seed, Sprout, Grow! Get your hands dirty and make friends with some worms. Learn all about plants from gardening activities to photosynthesis labs and games. This week we’ll spend extra time in the Education Garden.

3 6/11-6/15 Incredible Insects Have you ever wanted to know how a fly sees the world, or how to tell a weevil from a beetle? Spend a week getting to know these interesting invertebrates!

4 6/18-6/23 Sports Sampler Experience a week of fun physical activity. Field day, swimming, volleyball, soccer and much more.

5 6/25-6/29 Water Water Everywhere Explore the wonderful world of water! Water cycles, A wetland safari, water creatures and water labs will make this week a splash!

  7/2-7/6 Break No Camp in honor of 4th of July Holiday

6 7/9-7/13 Habitat Hunt We’ll discover the park’s many types of habitats and the animals and plants that make their homes there. We’ll visit the newly open forest trails and wetland walks to get a close peek at wildlife!

7 7/16-7/20 Nature Detectives Who calls the forest home? What creatures can we find under rocks and trees? How do plants and animals interact? This week we Explore our urban forest and learn about the many habitats and residents that live here.

8 7/23-7/27 Active Adventures This week of camp is a chance to shake things up! We’ll participate in traditional sports, create our own games, and even experiment with some games from the past while learning about our bones and muscles.

9 7/30-8/3 Garden to Belly This week campers get to do more than help the garden grow. We’ll also harvest and enjoy some of the Education Garden’s bounty. This week we’ll focus on how food, especially fresh fruits and veggies, help power our bodies.

Piedmont Park Camp Fit

For those who have aged out of the summer camp program, but are still interested in a Camp experience at Piedmont Park, check out Piedmont Park Camp Fit.

Camper’s ages 11-15 can spend their days in the park this summer participating in sports and learning about healthy living. This program has the same hours as EnviroVentures Summer Camp and shares the pickup and drop off making it a great option for camp families with older children.  A certified trainer with experience training youth will lead the program.
