How did you and Daniel meet?
Daniel and I met our sophomore year of college in an American Studies class, and bonded over the fact that we were both Southerners exiled in New York City. We started dating pretty soon afterwards, trying to find the best biscuits and bourbon in the city. After four years together in New York, we moved back down to Daniel's hometown of Nashville. He surprised me last summer with my great-grandmother's engagement ring while we were on vacation in Charleston.

Why were you drawn to Magnolia Hall and Lawn for your special day?
I think I always knew I wanted my wedding to be there; once when Daniel was visiting my family in Atlanta several years ago I took him on a walk and told him "this is where I'm going to get married some day." I'm just so fortunate that it really happened. I grew up going to Piedmont, and went to high school across the street - I even had my senior prom at Magnolia Hall - so I always knew it was the best spot in the park. Having spent much of our courtship wandering around Central Park, Daniel and I agreed we wanted something urban, outdoors, casual, and elegant. Nothing else fit the bill quite like Magnolia Hall.

What would be your favorite reception moment?
I remember a moment when we stepped outside from the reception hall and were dancing on the steps of the terrace with our friends. The music was quiet outside, there was a nice fresh park breeze, and all the little lights from the trees and the skyline were glowing. The setting made every moment like that feel intimate and relaxed, as if we were having the party in our own yard.

Would you recommend Piedmont Park Conservancy Facility Rentals
to other couples? Why?
Absolutely. Our ceremony felt incredibly peaceful outside in the garden as the sun was setting, and the reception hall and outdoor space allowed everyone - eaters, dancers, talkers - to move around together or find their own spot. The natural setting inspired all of our details and planning. The park is so gorgeous and the hall so unique, we didn't have to do much to decorate! Most of all, the staff was very professional and helpful, assisting with any adjustments or special requests we had. I never felt like we had to worry about anything at Magnolia Hall.
