![]() ![]() Mitsy Tsuchiya & Mitch Johnson We actually met 2 1⁄2 years ago at a “speed dating” event hosted by Hurry Date. After a three minute interview with one another, we were very excited to meet up again. The first date was dinner followed by conversation so long we were asked nicely to leave the restaurant (as it needed to close). I had great plans to ask Mitsy to marry me on a trip I was taking her on to New York for her birthday. Atlanta traffic helped us miss our flight and we had to wait five hours for the next flight. With the ring “burning a hole” in my pocket I proposed in Hartsfield-Jackson airport. After a dreamy two weeks in the Greek Islands, we are ready to put down roots in Atlanta. We are looking for a house and “the future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades”.
Why did you want to hold your ceremony and reception at Piedmont Park? We wanted to have our ceremony outside, and the mix of nature and water (with Clara Meer Lake was perfect). Luckily, the weather was ideal. What was your favorite ceremony moment? During the ceremony on the dock, the pastor kept calling Mitsy “Misty”. After the third time, I had to admit that unfortunately “Misty” could not make it today so Mitsy will have to do.
What did you love about your reception? What about your reception will you always remember? We customized Magnolia Hall with lighted, colored Chinese lanterns hanging from the rafters. There was a great warmth to the building and the dance floor rocked. The staff and facilities were “top notch”.
How did you make your wedding ceremony/reception unique or customized to your personalities? Our wedding ceremony had a “sake ceremony” typical of Japanese wedding tradition. Do you plan to spend your 1 Year Anniversary in the Park? Yes, we will go back then and on beautiful Saturdays in hopes of glimpsing a wedding such as ours from afar. |
