Food just tastes better outdoors! Piedmont Park has hundreds of great picnic spots where you can put down your blanket and lay out your spread. If you have a large group, you may want to rent one of two covered picnic pavilions. The Work Progress Administration (WPA) built the Picnic Shelter in 1936. It measures 40’ x 60’ and can accommodate 160 people standing or 64 seated. Electricity and water are available. There are two built-in grills adjacent to the shelter.


The nearby two-story brick Bandstand was built in 1915. It has a capacity of 30 people standing, or 25 seated. Electricity is available, but the Bandstand does not offer water.
